Around noon on June 6, 2024, John was riding his bicycle on Skyline Boulevard when he was severely injured in a pothole-related crash. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at Highland Hospital on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
The 311 service request relating to the pothole that caused John's crash had been open for at least six years prior to the crash without being fixed.
Skyline Boulevard is particularly dangerous for cyclists. Ed Weiss was killed on this same block of Skyline.
