In May 2010, Erik was finishing law school and about to begin an internship with the Southern Poverty Law Center, when he was doored and killed while riding his bicycle in Oakland.
Erik was a brilliant and compassionate individual, a vegetarian and a teacher who brought the wonders of science and computers to young students. Seeking to make a greater impact, he pursued law school with the aim to support ex-drug addicts, underprivileged children, and death row inmates.
Erik's ghost bike went missing. A replacement will be installed.
